Kefta Burger Recipe
The following is a scrumptous Kefta Burger Recipe. You’re gonna love it. It’s a fusion of American and Mediterranean dishes, and a great spin on the traditional burger recipe.
Ingredients:
For the burger:
1 lb of ground beef (ground turkey, ground bison, lamb, whatever you like)
–>(15% fat from the meat, so burger is not too fatty, but still moist.)
1 cup flat leaf parsely (more flavorful)
1 cup chopped onions (yellow or white)
1/2 tsp “7 spices” (name of a spice used in Lebanese cooking. Use this link for more info)
1 tsp Salt and Pepper
For the burger topping:
1/2 cup finely chopped flat leafed parsley
1/2 cup chopped or sliced white onion
1 tbsp sumac
Salt
This will be the garnish for the hamburger.
For the special Mediterranean mayonaise
This contains tahini, lemon, garlic, mayonnaise, a little paprika for a kick.
These burgers are made on the George Foreman grill (to drain any grease).
First blend the parsley and onions together in the food processor before the meat is added.
Add the hamburger to the food processor with the parsley and the onions. Also add the 7 spices, and the 1 tsp of salt.
Blend the mixture until it is very well combined.
This mixture should be finely mixed, thereby eliminating large chunks from being included in your burger mixture.
Make your burgers around 3 – 4 inches in diameter, and put them on the grill.
These are great to serve if you want something a bit fancy, but quick at the same time. Your guests or your family are going to think they are getting plain old burgers, but they are getting specialty burgers.
Let the burgers cook for around 7 – 8 minutes on the George Foreman Grill, then put together your topping mixture.
